ExxonMobil’s New Guyana FPSO Takes to the Water in China

The Errea Wittu FPSO, ExxonMobil’s fifth floating production, storage, and offloading vessel for the Stabroek block offshore Guyana, has officially been launched by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Company (DSIC).

The milestone took place at DSIC’s yard in Dalian, northern China, and follows the installation of the floater’s emergency generator motor, completed two weeks ago.

The FPSO is scheduled for delivery in June 2025, keeping it on course for integration of key modules and commissioning ahead of deployment. Once operational, the vessel is expected to significantly boost ExxonMobil’s production capabilities in Guyana’s prolific offshore oil fields.

The Stabroek block, operated by ExxonMobil in partnership with Hess and CNOOC, is one of the world’s fastest-growing offshore oil developments, producing hundreds of thousands of barrels of oil daily.

Expanding Guyana’s Energy Leadership

The Errea Wittu FPSO underscores ExxonMobil’s commitment to Guyana’s energy sector and highlights China’s role in manufacturing and delivering state-of-the-art offshore oil infrastructure.
