The Federal Government has announced a strategic partnership with Brazil aimed at modernizing Nigeria’s livestock sector through advanced genetics, improved feeds and fodder, and enhanced disease management.
Minister of Livestock Development, Alhaji Idi Maiha, disclosed this at the ongoing Nigeria-Brazil Trade Mission in Abuja, highlighting the $2.5 billion agreement focused on livestock advancement.
The deal will also facilitate the global transportation of Nigerian livestock, ensuring competitiveness in international markets. Additionally, the Brazilian Ambassador to Nigeria, Carlos Garcete, revealed plans for a $1.2 billion MoU under the Green Imperative Programme, which will provide Nigeria with tractors and agricultural equipment to enhance food security.
This collaboration is expected to drive economic growth, job creation, and increased trade between both nations.
