China has announced new tariffs on key US imports, including liquefied natural gas (LNG) and crude oil, in response to trade measures imposed by President Donald Trump’s administration.
As the country resumed business following the week-long Lunar New Year holiday, China’s Ministry of Finance (MoF) stated that US LNG and coal would face a 15% tariff starting February 10, according to a report from TradeWinds.
Additionally, a 10% tariff will be imposed on US crude oil, agricultural machinery, passenger vehicles, trucks, and trailers.
The latest trade measures highlight escalating tensions between the world’s two largest economies, with energy exports emerging as a key battleground in the ongoing economic dispute.
