The Kano State government, in collaboration with the World Bank, has disbursed N400 million to support 10 groups of young farmers as part of efforts to boost food security and agricultural value chain development.
Governor Yusuf, while presenting cheques to the beneficiaries at Government House, Kano, said the initiative under the Kano Agro-Climatic Resilience Landscape (ACReSAL) project aims to help farmers expand their outputs and establish sustainable agribusinesses.
Each group received N40 million, with individual beneficiaries getting at least N1 million as startup capital. The governor urged them to utilize the funds effectively to ensure the program benefits more youths in the future.
Commissioner of Environment and Climate Change, Dahir Muhammad Hashim, pledged to enhance environmental sustainability efforts, while ACReSAL National Coordinator, Abdulhamid Umar, commended the state for its commitment to youth empowerment.
