UAE’s Technomak Wins $1 Billion FLNG Vessel Contract for Major West Africa Project

Sharjah-based engineering giant, Technomak, has secured a monumental $1 billion contract for the construction of a Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) vessel, set to play a crucial role in West Africa’s energy landscape.

The project, spearheaded by Perenco’s subsidiary, Dixstone, will support the Cap Lopez FLNG project in Gabon.

Perenco, an independent oil and gas company, is pushing forward with its ambitious Cap Lopez project, which aims to boost Gabon’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) production capabilities. Dixstone, the fully owned subsidiary managing the project, will oversee the construction, procurement, and integration of the liquefaction facility—a converted Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) vessel.

Under the terms of the agreement, Technomak will handle the engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and integration of the FLNG vessel. Once operational, the facility is expected to produce 700,000 tonnes of LNG and 25,000 tonnes of Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG)annually, significantly enhancing Gabon’s energy exports.

The vessel will be stationed at the Cap Lopez terminal, a strategic location for exporting gas and petroleum products from Gabon to international markets. This project marks a significant step in West Africa’s energy sector, highlighting Technomak’s expertise in offshore engineering and large-scale industrial projects.
