The Bauchi State Police Command has uncovered and dismantled an illegal fertiliser production network operating across several locations in Bauchi. Five suspects were arrested, and multiple bags of adulterated fertiliser, herbicides, and production tools were recovered.
According to PPRO Ahmed Wakil, the operation began with the arrest of Muhammad Abubakar, who was caught with adulterated products. Investigations led to more arrests, including Anas Abubakar, Abdulrahman Muhammad, Ziya’u Bala, Sama’ila Abdullahi, and Mujahid Abdullahi—all linked to the illegal production and sale of fake fertiliser.
Over 100 bags of adulterated fertiliser and moulded kaolin were seized, and three illicit factories were shut down.
The police have promised full prosecution of all involved to protect farmers and the public from harmful products.
