FG to Launch Industrial Hubs in 4 States to Power Manufacturing and Job Creation

The Federal Government has announced plans to establish industrial hubs in Lagos, Ogun, Kano, and Abia States, aiming to fast-track Nigeria’s industrialisation and economic transformation.

Speaking at the 16th National Council on Industry, Trade, and Investment in Lagos, Minister of State for Industry, Senator John Enoh, revealed that the initiative is part of the broader Industrial Revolution Work Group (IRWG) strategy launched in February 2025. The IRWG is designed to rejuvenate Nigeria’s industrial future through innovation, stakeholder engagement, and robust policy implementation.

The hubs, Enoh said, align with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises economic diversification and the development of a resilient manufacturing sector. Key targets include closing energy and infrastructure gaps, simplifying regulations, and creating an enabling environment for investors.

“We’re entering a full-scale industrialisation era. Every reform and investment must now contribute to building a globally competitive, inclusive, and innovation-driven economy,” the minister stated.

He urged collaboration among federal and state governments, the private sector, and development partners to support MSMEs, activate dormant industrial zones, and scale up employment-generating clusters nationwide.

“The siting of these hubs in Kano, Abia, Lagos, and Ogun will leverage regional strengths, boost local production, create jobs, and stimulate broad-based economic growth,” Enoh added.
