The agency warned of strong winds likely to accompany the storms and advised residents to secure loose objects, avoid driving in heavy rain, and disconnect electrical appliances during storms. Travelers and airline operators are also advised to stay updated with weather alerts and get detailed reports from NiMet.
“Stay away from tall trees and monitor NiMet updates through official channels or our website: www.nimet.gov.ng,” the agency urged.
