TotalEnergies Secures Pay Deal with UK North Sea Workers, Averting Strike

French energy giant TotalEnergies has reached a pay agreement with its UK North Sea workforce, defusing the threat of strike action, according to trade union Unite.

The deal includes a 2.25% increase in basic pay and a 5% rise in offshore allowances for approximately 50 Unite members stationed on the Elgin Franklin and North Alwyn platforms. Unite announced the agreement on Friday.

Back in April, workers voted in favor of potential industrial action after rejecting a 1.75% salary increase offer, which Unite criticized as the “lowest pay offer” seen in the UK North Sea sector this year.

The new deal reflects growing pressure across the energy sector to address worker concerns amid rising costs and demanding offshore conditions.
