Nasarawa boost agribusiness with distribution of fertilizer to 74,800 farmers

Nasarawa State Government, in partnership with the Federal Government, has commenced the distribution of free fertilizer to 74,800 farmers across the State as part of efforts to boost yields production.The distribution ceremony, tagged: each farmer to a bag of fertilizer, earmarked 500 bags of fertilizer to selected farmers in each of the 147 political wards, while 100 bags were set aside for distribution to each of the 13 Local Government Areas of the State.At the flagg-off of the distribution of fertilizer to the deserving farmers in Lafia recently, Governor Abdullahi Sule is confident that the farmers would increase crop production and boost farming activities in the State.The governor, who appreciated President Bola Tinubu for facilitating the distribution of the free fertilizer to farmers, said that the gesture was meant to further boost farming activities with a view to enhancing food security in the State and the Country at large.He, therefore reiterated his Administration’s commitment to providing conducive environment for investment in the agricultural sector, through timely provision of improved farm inputs and agricultural equipment for increased crop production.
