UK electrolyzer manufacturer ITM Power has signed a capacity reservation agreement with German energy company RWE for 150 MW of NEPTUNE V units, marking another milestone in Europe’s green hydrogen buildout.
The agreement, covering 30 containerized units, allows call-offs by 2027 and builds on RWE’s earlier collaboration with ITM, including the 4 MW pilot project and the ongoing delivery of 200 MW for the GetH2 Nukleus project in Lingen, Germany.
The NEPTUNE V electrolyzer is ITM’s latest containerized solution for green hydrogen production, offering compact design, rapid deployment, simplified installation, and reliable operation. Units can be interconnected to form larger plants, making the technology adaptable for scaling hydrogen infrastructure.
Dennis Schulz, CEO of ITM Power, said:
“This additional 150 MW capacity reservation underlines RWE’s confidence in our technology and delivery capability. Repeat business with a global leader in energy is the strongest validation of our strategy, our products, and our people.”
Beyond this deal, ITM Power continues to secure international projects in 2025:
A 20 MW supply and services agreement with MorGen Energy for the West Wales Hydrogen project in Milford Haven, UK.
A 20 MW contract (four NEPTUNE V units) for Norway’s Hydrogen Hub Agder project, owned by Greenstat, a subsidiary of La Française de l’Energie SA (FDE).
This expansion cements ITM’s position as a key player in Europe’s hydrogen transition, with RWE doubling down on green energy pathways to meet EU climate and energy security goals.
