India and Argentina have agreed to deepen cooperation in critical mineral exploration and resource development, focusing on lithium projects.
An official statement noted that the collaboration aims to accelerate lithium exploration, enhance resource security, and create new opportunities for Indian companies in Latin America’s mining sector.

The two nations also discussed ongoing lithium exploration efforts by Khanij Bidesh India Ltd. (KABIL) and Greenko in Catamarca. They explored ways to increase Indian participation in Argentina’s mining projects.
Both sides considered investment opportunities, long-term supply agreements, and joint ventures to secure India’s access to lithium. Knowledge exchange and infrastructure support were also emphasized to strengthen India’s engagement in Argentina’s mining sector.
Additionally, discussions covered policy frameworks, regulatory aspects, and sustainable mining practices to ensure a mutually beneficial partnership.
