The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, has praised Agbeyewa Farms for its major investment in cassava farming and agro-processing, calling it a model for food security and economic empowerment in Nigeria.
During a visit to Agbeyewa Farms in Ipao-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Senator Kyari commended the farm’s rapid growth and reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to partnering with private sector stakeholders to strengthen the cassava value chain.
“The vision behind Agbeyewa Farms perfectly aligns with the federal government’s push for food security through large-scale agricultural investment,” Kyari stated. “Cassava holds vast potential for both food consumption and wealth creation through its derivatives.”

Kyari emphasized that the government remains committed to supporting ventures like Agbeyewa Farms that drive food availability and economic growth.
Welcoming the minister, Seyi Oskar Aiyeleso, Managing Director of Agbeyewa Farms, reiterated the company’s dedication to agricultural innovation and community empowerment.
“Agriculture is a catalyst for economic transformation,” Aiyeleso said. “Since 2022, we’ve expanded cassava cultivation from 102 hectares to over 1,500 hectares across four locations in Ekiti State.”
Aiyeleso also highlighted a new agreement with the Ekiti State government to cultivate 100,000 hectares of cassava, aimed at boosting rural development.
Kabir Shagaya, Director of Strategy at Cavista Holdings, noted Agbeyewa Farms’ collaboration with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) to enhance cassava yield and quality.
