NNPCL to Resume Crude Oil Exploration in Northern Nigeria — CEO Declares

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has announced plans to resume crude oil exploration activities in Northern Nigeria. This revelation was made by the NNPCL’s Group CEO, who emphasized the strategic importance of harnessing the region’s oil reserves to boost the nation’s energy production and economic stability.

The renewed exploration efforts are part of the federal government’s drive to expand Nigeria’s oil production capacity and diversify its oil exploration footprint beyond the traditional Niger Delta region. According to NNPCL, the move aims to enhance local energy security, create job opportunities, and stimulate economic growth in Northern communities.

Exploration activities are expected to focus on the Chad Basin, Gongola Basin, and other promising areas identified through geological surveys.
