General Sir Gwyn Jenkins Appointed as UK’s First Sea Lord and Chief of Naval Staff
General Sir Gwyn Jenkins KCB OBE RM has been appointed as the First Sea Lord and Chief of the Naval Staff, marking a historic moment as the first Royal Marine to hold this position. His Majesty The King officially approved the appointment, as announced by Defence Secretary John Healey. Jenkins also assumes the role of Aide-de-Camp to His Majesty.
