Edun, Cardoso, Adedeji Align Policies to Strengthen Nigeria’s Economy

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, on Tuesday held a strategic meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Olayemi Cardoso, at the apex bank’s headquarters in Abuja. Also present was Dr. Zacch Adedeji, Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

The high-level engagement focused on deepening synergy between fiscal and monetary authorities to sustain macroeconomic stability, enhance investor confidence, and drive private sector-led growth.

Speaking after the meeting, Edun emphasized that policy alignment is critical to advancing President Bola Tinubu’s reform agenda. He noted that closer cooperation among fiscal and monetary institutions would help curb inflation, improve revenue generation, and ensure efficient credit flows to productive sectors.

Both Cardoso and Adedeji reaffirmed their commitment to work closely with the Finance Ministry to tackle domestic and global economic challenges while positioning Nigeria as an attractive investment hub.

According to the Finance Ministry, the joint session underscores a unified government approach to building a stable, inclusive, and prosperous economy for Nigerians through coordinated reforms and shared growth strategies.
