Turkish Airlines has announced plans to expand its fleet with an order of 225 Boeing aircraft, subject to ongoing negotiations with engine suppliers.
The carrier confirmed it will acquire 75 Boeing 787-9 and 787-10 Dreamliners, 50 firm orders and 25 options with deliveries scheduled between 2029 and 2034. Talks are underway with Rolls-Royce and GE Aerospace regarding engines, spare parts, and maintenance services for the widebody fleet.
Additionally, Turkish Airlines finalized negotiations with Boeing for 150 737-8/10 MAX aircraft (100 firm and 50 options). However, the final order remains conditional on successful discussions with engine manufacturer CFM International.
“With these orders, our entire fleet is targeted to consist of new-generation aircraft by 2035, thereby strengthening operational efficiency and supporting an average annual growth rate of around 6%,” the airline stated.
The announcement followed President Tayyip Erdogan’s meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, during which discussions touched on defense, energy, and trade relations.
