Aker BP to use Floatel’s vessel at Norwegian offshore field

The Norwegian offshore safety regulator has given Aker BP consent to deploy one of Floatel’s semi-submersible accommodation and construction support vessels at a field off the coast of NorwayThe Norwegian Ocean Industry Authority (Havtil) has granted Aker BP consent to use Floatel Endurance as living quarters on the Skarv field in the northern part of the Norwegian Sea, 35 kilometers southwest of the Norne field.The water depth in the area is 350-450 meters. Following the discovery in 1998, the plan for development and operation (PDO) of the field was approved in 2007. This is a joint development of the Skarv and Idun deposits.The development concept entails a production, storage, and offloading vessel (FPSO) with five subsea templates with fifteen wells. The production from the field started in 2013. Aker BP hired the 2015-built Floatel Endurance for work at the Yggdrasil project in Q3 2026.The Norwegian operator also booked the same vessel to provide accommodation and construction support services to the FPSO Alvheim on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS) in the central North Sea in 2029
